A Comprehensive Meat Processing Class Covering Field Dressing, Cutting, Grinding, and Canning
Whether you're bringing home a deer this season or just wanting to get more from the meat you buy, this hands-on workshop will teach you the fundamentals of field dressing deer and how to break down, process, and preserve meat like a pro.
We will start the day covering the basics of field dressing, then move into a full carcass breakdown demonstration (using a lamb carcass) to show you how a whole animal can be worked into familiar cuts; skills that translate directly whether you're field-dressing game or breaking down a purchased whole or half animal for home use. From there, you'll move into hands-on stations to practice cutting, grinding, and canning meat yourself.
This workshop is available to anyone interested in learning how to safely process, prepare, and preserve meat, including:
- Hunters who want to process their own harvest, from field to freezer confidently
- Home cooks and consumers interested in purchasing meat in bulk, cutting it into usable portions, and preserving it through canning
