  • Camps/activities that youth can join this Summer! Contact Jones County 4-H with questions by calling 252-448-9621 or reaching out to the Jones County 4-H Agent, Samantha Bennett, directly! (252-521-6114 or sjwiggin@ncsu.edu)
  • We will be providing transportation to any camp or activity located outside of Jones County Civic Center and Jones County Extension using our 4-H Van. For example, if a camp is held at Lenoir County Extension, please drop your youth off at our office, Jones County Extension, and we will drive them to and from Lenoir County Extension.
  • Completed registration forms and payment is required to secure your youth's spot!

Camp Cloverbud COST: $10 We will travel to Lenoir County Cooperative Extension Office where we will spark curiosity, encourage creativity, and introduce youth to the exciting world of 4-H through hands-on activities, outdoor exploration, and lots ot fun. Coop to Kitchen August 12th-14th, 2025 | 8:15am-4:30pm SPOTS STILL AVAILABLE We will travel to the Lenoir County Extension Office to learn all about poultry, from the coop to the kitchen. There will be three days of hands-on activities where 4-H'ers will explore nutrition, cooking, the poultry industry, careers, animal science, biosecurity, anatomy, and hear directly from specialists. Doughnut Fundraiser June 2nd, 2025 | 10:30am-2pm Trenton Ages: 8-18 Fundraiser for all 4-H'ers attending 4-H sleep away camp (Camp Millstone) or NC 4-H Congress. Pre-sales will also be done as well as in person sales in Trenton. Proceeds are split evenly between participating 4-H'ers. Jones County 4-H Activity Day Ages: 5-18 June 3rd, 2025 | 9am-4pm Jones County Extension Office 4-H Presentations are a great way to increase your public speaking skills while learning more about a topic you are interested in! County Activity Day is for all District Activity Day presentation participants. Please contact Mrs. Samantha to sign up for a 30 minute time block between 9am-4pm to practice your DAD presentation. You must register for District Activity Day by May 21st. the earlier you register, the more likely your topic will be approved as there is a limit to how many presentations can be entered into the same project category per county!
More Summer Fun! Farm to Table Series You may register for one or both camps! Part I: Farm Tour Ages: 8-13 June 4th-5th, 2025 | 9am-4pm Jones County Extension Office | $5 Meet local farmers, tour their farming operations, and learn about foods grown and sold in your own community! Part II: Chopped Ages: 8-13 June 10th-12th, 2025 | 9am-12pm The Filling Station | $20 Learn kitchen safety, knife skills, proper cooking temperatures, and healthy eating using MyPlate. On the last day of camp, 4-H'ers will test their new skills using surprise ingredients in a friendly cooking competition. Judges will taste test and choose the winners! Cloverbud Field Day Ages: 5-8 June 17th, 2025 | 8:15am-4:30pm Jones County Extension Office | $10 We will travel to the Lenoir County Extension Office for a fun-filled day of team building, games, leadership development, and outdoor activities. Southeast District Activity Day June 20th, 2025 | 9am-until over Wayne Community College Ages: 5-18 4-H'er must pre-register by May 21s with Mrs. Samantha. This event is a district wide 4-H presentations opportunity for youth to improve their public speaking! Jones County 4-H will NOT be providing transportation or supervision of 4-H'ers during this event. pg. 2
More Summer Fun! Whole Wheat: Earth to Eat Ages: 8-13 June 24th, 2025 | 9am-4pm Jones County Civic Center | $10 Dig into the delicious world of whole grains by exploring how wheat grows from the ground up, discovering what role wheat plays in your world, and cooking a wholesome snack! This camp will connect agriculture, nutrition, and sustainability in one grain-tastic adventure. Bug Out! Ages: 8-13 June 26th, 2025 | 8:15am-4:30pm Jones County Extension Office | $10 We will travel to the Lenoir County Extension Office to explore the world of entomology through hands-on activities, experiments, and more. Camp Cloverbud (NEW!). Ages: 5-8 July 8th, 2025 | 8:15am-4:30pm Jones County Extension Office | $10 We will be traveling to Lenoir County Extension. Hands-on activities, outdoor exploration, and lots ot fun. A variety of engaging stations will be offered such as nature walks, arts and crafts, STEM fun, simple cooking, games, and team-building activities- all while making new friends and learning important life skills. Millstone 4-H Camp Ages: 8-14 July 13th-18th, 2025 Ellerbe, NC | $500 4-H overnight camp at Millstone 4-H Camp in Ellerbe, NC. Spaces are limited and a $50 deposit is required to hold your space. Part 2: Circuit Sense Ages: 8-11 July 17th, 2025 | 9am-llam Jones County Extension Office | Free Dive deeper into building electrical circuits and understanding electrical forces! NC 4-H Congress Ages: 14-18 July 21st-25th, 2025 Raleigh, NC | $250 NC 4-H Congress is an annual state teen event that improves delegates' knowledge of current world issues, provides an opportunity for delegates to participate in the democratic process through campaigning for and electing State 4-H officers, and provides fun recreational and social experiences! Speak to Mrs. Samantha prior to registation. *REGISTRATION DUE BY JUNE 13TH* Bird Dawgs Baseball Game Ages: 8-18 July 30th, 2025 | 9:45am-until over (3:30?) Jones County Extension Office | $10 Take a trip with us to a Down East Bird Dawgs baseball game in Kinston, NC. Game is at 11:00AM. Hot dog, chips, and drink included.
