Summer 2022

Millstone 4-H Camp

  • June 26th-July 1st, $500, ages 8-14.
  • We will be camping at Camp Millstone in Ellerbe, NC this summer. Don’t let the camping cost scare you because we have many ways to fundraise and also offer scholarships. Contact us now for more information as space is very limited!

Come have fun with electricity! Ages 10-14. June 8th and 9th at 9 a.m.-4 p.m. We will spend 2 days learning about electrical safety, how to properly conduct electrical currents as well as creating open and closed circuits.come fishing at the brock mill pond with us! All fishing supplies provided by NC Wildlife! FREE!

2 days of activities that promote self confidence, healthy lifestyles, social skills, and just plain fun!for all district activity day participants: sign up for a time block with mrs. samantha!

Bug out~ youth will learn how to identify bugs, why they are useful to our ecosystem and fun bug facts! july 6th, 2022 at 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the jones county civic center- cost is $10

Youth will participate in hands-on lessons and labs on different livestock species. Youth will learn about drawing blood, proper handling, administering medications, and more on July 13th and 14th, 2022 at 745 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lenoir County Livestock Arena.

Learn about fresh foods from the garden all the way to the table!

Come learn about horses and how to show them!

4-Hers will solve insect crime cases using their best investigative skills diving into biology, entomology, and forensics to crack the case on Aug 2nd, 2022 at 8:15 a.m.-4:45 p.m. at the Lenoir County Extension office. FREE to sign up. Ages 13-18

Join us for a day trip to raleigh to learn about foods and food production. Explore how nc state university makes howling cow ice cream, tour the state's farmer's market, dine at ncsu with college students, visit the nc department of food science. cost is $10 but bring shopping money. for ages 13-18

Mooving milk! aug 9th-11 8:15 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at lenoir county extension. Youth will trace Clover the Cow's growth from calf to dairy cow and learn about how milk moves from the farm to fridge, the dairy industry, and how dairy foods can contribute to a healthy diet. We're wrapping this camp with a trip to Simply natural dairy farm to tour the farm, facilities, and meet the dairy cows!

Help your community by volunteering to help make the best better! Job TBD - but will most likely be outside so bring water, sunscreen, and your muscles!
