Summer Fun 2024

  • Over 10 camps/activities that youth can join this Summer! Contact Jones County 4-H with questions by calling 252-448-9621 or reaching out to the Jones County 4-H Agent, Samantha Bennett, directly! See them below or view them here!
  • We will be providing transportation to any camp or activity located outside of Jones County Civic Center and Jones County Extension using our 4-H Van. For example, if a camp is held at Lenoir County Extension, please drop your youth off at our office, Jones County Extension, and we will drive them to and from Lenoir County Extension.

Jones County 4-H Presentations. Registration for District Activity Day is due to Mrs. Samantha on May 21st. County Activity Day is for all District Activity Day presentation participants: sign up for a time block on June 10th, 2024 at the Jones County Extension Office.

Sylvan Heights Bird Park Field Trip! Ages 8-18. $20 per 4-H'er; $30 per adult. Let's explore Sylvan Heights Bird Park in Scotland Neck, NC. Price includes a private encounter with the park's animal ambassador, treats to feed birds in the aviary, and lunch.

Poultry Education Center Field Trip on June 20th, 2024 from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Leaving from the Jones County Extension office. $10 per participant. Join us for a day to Pinetops, NC to visit the NC Center for Poultry Education and learn about poultry production. If time permits, we will try our hand at avian bowl (chicken quiz bowl) as well!

It's Corn! June 28th, 2024 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the jones county civic center! $10 per participant. Corn as a crop, corn by-products, corn in the kitchen, and corn crafts! It's corn! I can't imagine a more beautiful thing! Learn about corn and its amazing journey from seed to stalk! Make your very own corn husk doll and mini broom! Cook a tasty treat using corn as the main ingredient!

Glass Class! Ages 10-18! July 30th, 2024 8:15 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at the Jones County Extension officee! $20 per participant. Get creative and colorful in our Stained Glass class!

Livestock Science Camp August 6th, 2024 8:15 a.m.-4:30 p.m. - meeting at the jones county extension office. $15 per participant! Youth will participate in hands-on lessons and labs on different livestock species. Youth will learn about drawing blood, proper handling, administering medications, and more!

Cloverbud Camp August 8th, 2024 8:15 a.m.-4:30 p.m. meeting at the jones county extension office. $10 per participant. ages 5-8. a day of activities that promote self confidence, healthy lifestyles, social skills, and just plain fun!
