This is a free,16-session, 1-hour Zoom course based on the NC Certified Plant Professional plantlist, as currently posted on the NCExtension Gardener Plant Toolbox. The course is designed for individuals who are planning to pursuecertification at some point in the future. Participants will strengthen their plant ID skills as well as theirfamiliarity with many of the plants on the list. The course will be organized as follows:
May 19: Hollies, boxwoods and osmanthus
May 26: Maples, oaks and other shade trees
June 2: Groundcovers
June 9: Perennials
June 16: Bulbs, corms, tubers, etc.
June 23: Shade trees, Part II
June 30: Pines, firs, spruces
July 7: Small flowering trees
July 14: Break
July 21: Roses
July 28: Grasses, sedges, and related
August 4: Evergreen flowering shrubs
August 11: Annuals
August 18: Herbs
August 25: Conifers Part II
September15: Deciduous flowering shrubs
All sessions will take place on Tuesday evenings, and will begin at 6 PM and end by 7 PM orearlier. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.
